Business environments are characterized by competition and the need to be more efficient. It is important for businesses to have a strong understanding of their environment in order to succeed. The characteristics of a business environment can be broken down into three parts: external factors, internal factors, and the environment itself. The external factors of a business are those that are outside of the company’s control. This includes things like market conditions, economic trends, and industry trends. The internal factors are those that can be changed by the company themselves such as management structure, company culture, team dynamics, and human resources. Finally we have the environment itself which includes things like location, customer demographics, competitors in the market place etc.
