The difference between on-the-job training and off-the-job training is that the former is done while working, while the latter is done after work. Off-the-job training is also called “distance learning”. It can be conducted by a company or an individual, and it's usually different in all aspects from on-the-job training.

On-the-job training is a form of learning with instruction that takes place in the workplace. The trainee learns about the job by observing and working alongside other employees. Off-the-job training is a form of learning that occurs outside of the workplace, usually in a classroom setting. The trainee learns about the job through reading or hearing lectures, using instructional materials, and/or watching videos.

The main difference between on-the-job and off-the-job training is where they occur. On-the-job training takes place while the employees are working, i.e., in the office. While off-the-job training takes place outside the workplace. It can be done anywhere. For this purpose, a suitable place is already decided by the trainer.
